Komposisi Hasil Tangkapan Jaring Kembung (Gillnet) Di Perairan Kelurahan Belawan I Kecamatan Medan Belawan Kota Medan Provinsi Sumatera Utara

This research was conducted in September-October 2023 and located in Belawan I, Medan Belawan District, Medan City, North Sumatra. This research aims were to find out the type of the fish caught, find out the composition of gillnets catches (main catch and bycatch), and find out how fish are caught. This research was conducted by survey method. This research showed that the catch of gillnets is Rastrelliger sp, Scomberomorus commerson, Atule mate, Megalaspis cordyla, Sphyraena putnamae, Strongylura leiura, Scomberoides tol, Terapon jarbua, Eleutheronema tetradactylum, Chirocentrus dorab, Istiophorus platypterus. The main catch (68%) was Rastrelliger sp, while the by-catch (32%) were Scomberomorus commerson, Atule mate, Megalaspis cordyla, Sphyraena putnamae, Strongylura leiura, Scomberoides tol, Terapon jarbua, Eleutheronema tetradactylum, Chirocentrus dorab, Istiophorus platypterus. Species that caught by gilled were Rastrelliger sp, Megalaspis cordyla, Terapon jarbua, Eleutheronema tetradactylum, Chirocentrus dorab, and Scomberomorus commerson. The species caught by wedged were Atule mate, Sphyraena putnamae and Scomberoides tol. The species caught by entangled was the Istiophorus platypterus and Strongylura leiurah.
