Perancangan Science And Technology Education Center Dengan Pendekatan Smart Building Di Pekanbaru

ABSTRACT
Science and technology are important pillars in the progress of a country, where science as a theoretical foundation is the origin of the birth of practical technology. In Indonesia, the development of science and technology is considered the main key to achieving the vision of a developed country in 2045. However, various complexities arise in facing challenges such as the digital divide, personal data protection, cyber security, and technological innovation. In overcoming these challenges, cross-sector collaboration is needed to strengthen technological infrastructure and improve digital literacy. One of the efforts is a Riau Science Center facility located in Pekanbaru. However, this facility is still limited and inadequate to support the development of science and technology. Therefore, an innovative container is needed that can overcome these limitations. In this case, the smart building approach is the right solution because it can use advanced technology to improve energy efficiency, comfort, and overall building function. Case Study and Combined Strategies methods are used in the design by collecting existing case studies as references, including analysis of successful science and technology education centers as well as calculations and comparisons of energy efficiency and the use of smart technology. The Science and Technology Education Center will be equipped with various demonstration tools, exhibitions, and displays in the fields of science and technology. Adopting the concept of "Science-Tech Evolution" which combines the principles of smart buildings with a progressive approach in science and technology education, the three elements of science and technology evolution, namely theory, experiment, and application, are realized in a stable and balanced triangular design. This concept reflects the dynamic developments in science and technology. With the Smart Building approach and the concept of "Science-Tech Evolution", the Science and Technology Education Center in Pekanbaru is expected to become a modern and interactive educational facility and educational tourism destination.
