Prarancangan Pabrik Asam Akrilat Dari Gliserol Dan Proses Oksidasi Akrolein Dengan Desain Alat Utama Reaktor Dehidrasi Gliserol (R-101)
ABSTRACT
Acrylic Acid is a compound with the molecular formula C3H4O2 which is used in the polyacrylate, hydrocyanicrylate, coating formulations, Superabsorbent Polymers (SAPs), and polymer industries. Acrylic Acid is made using the oxidation process on acrolein produced from the glycerol dehydration reaction. This factory is planned to operate for 330 days per year and work continuously for 24 hours/day with a capacity of 100,000 tons/year which will be established in the Dumai area, Riau. The form of the company chosen is a Limited Liability Company (PT) with a line and staff organizational system. The employee work system is based on the division of working hours consisting of shift and non-shift employees. The main tool design in this factory is the Fixed Bed Multitube Reactor (R-101) which functions for the glycerol dehydration reaction and produces acrolein as a raw material for making acrylic acid. The analysis was carried out quantitatively based on the criteria of IRR, ROI, PBP, BEP, and sensitivity analysis. The results of the study showed that the Acrylic Acid factory is feasible to be built with a production capacity of 100,000 tons/year. Based on a financial perspective, the construction of the factory can be carried out with an IRR value of 35.0361%; ROI 44.408%, PBP 2.25 years; and BEP 34.67%.
