ABSTRACT
The role of agricultural extension is very much needed in farming activities, especially in improving farmer behavior, where the role played by extension workers is in their function as agents of change in encouraging and improving farmer behavior. The aim of this research is to analyze the influence of the role of agricultural instructors on the behavior of farmer group members in Tenayan Raya District, Pekanbaru City. The research was conducted from August 2024 to January 2025. This research used descriptive analysis and simple regression analysis. The data used in the research are primary data and secondary data. Primary data was obtained through questionnaires distributed directly to members of farmer groups. Secondary data was obtained from BPP Kulim, BPS Pekanbaru City and previous research journals and literature studies. This research used a proportional random sampling technique with 40 farmers as respondents. Data were analyzed using a Likert scale and simple regression analysis using SPSS version 22. The results showed that the role of agricultural extension was in the role category and farmer behavior was in the very good category. The results of the research show that there is a significant influence between the role of agricultural extension on farmer behavior with a close relationship of 80.5%. This shows that agricultural instructors have carried out their role well and the behavior of farmer group members in carrying out their farming activities is in the good category.
