Pola Komunikasi Dalam Peremajaan Sawit Rakyat (Psr) Desateluk Merbau Kecamatan Dayun Kabupaten Siak
ABSTRACT
Communication among smallholder farmers plays a crucial role in accelerating
the PSR program, particularly in disseminating information and fostering mutual
understanding regarding the replanting process. This study aims to analyze
communication patterns in the implementation of the People's Palm Oil Replanting
Program (Peremajaan Sawit Rakyat/PSR) at KUD Tunas Muda, Teluk Merbau
Village, Dayun District, Siak Regency. This research uses a quantitative descriptive
approach with survey methods and communication network analysis utilizing
UCINET VI software. Data were collected through questionnaires and interviews
with 98 farmers participating in the first phase of the PSR program. The results show
that the communication process among farmers occurs through two primary
channels: face-to-face interaction and digital communication (specifically through
WhatsApp). The communication network structures identified are interlocking
personal networks and radial personal networks. Several key actors were found to
play central roles such as stars, bridges, and gatekeepers in the information
dissemination process. The communication established was considered effective in
building synergy among farmers, accelerating information flow, and encouraging
active participation in the PSR program. The findings also reveal that the use of
digital media strengthens actor connectivity, enhances shared understanding, and
facilitates coordination throughout the replanting process. The study recommends
strengthening institutional communication capacity and adaptively utilizing digital
communication platforms to support the sustainability of the PSR program among
independent smallholders.
