Autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AIHA) is a disorder that causes the destruction of red blood cells (hemolysis) by autoantibodies produced by the patient's own immune system. Globally, AIHA can reach 1-3:100,000 per year with a mortality rate of 11%. It is important to know the characteristics of AIHA patients for effective and efficient diagnosis and therapy. This study is a descriptive study with a cross-sectional method. The study was conducted in November-December 2024. Data were obtained from patient medical records. The total sample obtained was 35 patients. Based on the results of the study, the age group 19-59 years was the largest age group (51.4%). Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is the most common etiology of secondary AIHA in patients (14.28%). The clinical symptoms that is the chief complaint of patients is pale, weak, shortness of breath, and fever. Most patients have blood type B Rhesus positive (42.8%). A total of 26 patients had positive Direct Coomb Test results (74.3%) and 24 patients had incompatible crossmatch test results (68.6%). Based on the results of the study, hospitals need to conduct DAT and reticulocyte examinations to establish the etiology, diagnosis and evaluate therapy for AIHA patients so that they can prevent morbidity and mortality.
