Status Mutu Air Dan Beban Pencemaran Sungai Sago Kecamatan Senapelan Kota Pekanbaru
The Sago River is a tributary of the Siak River located in the center of Pekanbaru City. The condition of the river is heavily influenced by urban activities, including various waste disposal practices, both liquid and solid, which contribute to water pollution. The aim of this study is to assess the water quality status of the Sago River and to calculate the pollutant load contributing to the pollution of the Siak River. This research was conducted from May to June 2024. Samples were taken from three stations using purposive sampling methods. Water quality parameters measured included physical (temperature, TSS), chemical (DO, BOD, COD, nitrate, phosphate), and biological (fecal coliform). Data analysis of the water quality status of the Sago River utilized a pollution index based on Government Regulation Number 22 of 2021. Meanwhile, pollutant loads were calculated based on river discharge and the concentration of water quality parameters. The results showed that the water quality status of the Sago River was categorized as moderately polluted, with a pollution index ranging from 5,42 to 7,23. The highest pollutant load was found at Station III for COD at 26,5 mg/second, while the lowest pollutant load was at Station I for nitrate at 0,006 mg/second.
