Air is the most important need in the survival of all living things, especially humans. This study is a descriptive observational study with a longitudinal and time-series design, which aims to assess air quality in the PICU room of Arifin Achmad Hospital Riau Province. Measurements of CO2, O2, noise, and lighting levels were conducted in the morning, afternoon, and evening for 14 days. CO2 quality levels were highest during the day with an average of 1215 ppm. The O2 quality level increased in the morning with an average of 21%. Lighting intensity was highest during the day with an average of 163 lux. The noise level in the trigger room was highest at noon with an average of 60 dBA. High CO2 concentrations during the day were due to shift changes and patient passes, room cleaning by the cleaning service (CS), and doctor visits. There was no increase in oxygen concentration as the number of people in the PICU increased or decreased. Noise levels were high during the day, this was in line with the increase in the number of people in the PICU mostly during the day. The high level of lighting in this study can be caused by natural lighting. CO2 concentration was found to exceed the quality standard in the intensive care unit.
