Karakteristik Pasien Otitis Media Supuratif Kronik Di Rsud Arifin Achmad Provinsi Riau Tahun 2018-2021
Chronic suppurative otitis media (CSOM) is a chronic inflammatory condition of the middle ear and mastoid as a continuation of acute otitis media, characterized by tympanic membrane perforation and the presence of discharge from the ear or otorrhea. Chronic conditions occur when the disease persists or recurs for two months or more. This study aims to determine the characteristics of chronic suppurative otitis media patients at RSUD Arifin Achmad, Province of Riau in 2018-2021. The research design used in this study was descriptive retrospective using secondary data in the form of medical records of chronic suppurative otitis media patients at RSUD Arifin Achmad, Province of Riau for the period 2018-2021. There were 523 cases of CSOM patients, the most aged 11-20 years (22.4%), in males (53.5%), %), the main complaint of otorrhea (61.4%), with the most classification of benign type (78.4%), without complications (92.7%), pharmacotherapy management (80.9)%. From the results of this study, it was concluded that the most CSOM patients were aged 11-20 years, dominated by males with the main complaint of otorrhea. The classification of CSOM is the benign type with the most management with pharmacotherapy and without complications.
