Perilaku Konsumtif Dalam Menggunakan Produk Skincare Pelajar Jurusan Kecantikan Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (Smk) Negeri 3 Pekanbaru
The increasing phenomenon of skincare use among teenagers, especially female beauty vocational school students, is driven by the influence of social media, peers, and the need to appear attractive according to developing beauty stmerekards. This study aims to determine the consumer behavior of female beauty students at State Vocational High School 3 Pekanbaru in using skincare products and the reasons behind it. This study uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach to describe in depth the experiences and motivations of individuals in consumer behavior towards skincare. Data were collected through observation, structured interviews, and documentation of six purposively selected informants. The results of the study indicate that female students' consumer behavior in using skincare products is influenced by internal factors such as knowledge, personal experience, needs, and self-perception of beauty and self-confidence. On the other hand, external factors such as family support, peer influence, and exposure to social media content and influencers also strengthen the consumer tendencies of female students. The conclusion of this study states that female students' consumer behavior in using skincare is not only triggered by functional needs, but also by social and emotional drives. Although the use of skincare provides benefits for skin health, excessive consumption without consideration can cause financial and psychological risks. Therefore, it is important to provide education on healthy consumption literacy and wise use of skincare for students, especially in the beauty vocational education environment.
