Hubungan Pengetahuan Dan Sikap Tentang Kesehatan Gigi Terhadap Terjadinya Karies Gigi Di Sdn 004 Teratak Buluh Kabupaten Kampar
Dental caries is a common dental health problem among elementary school children, primarily due to a lack of knowledge and attitudes that support dental health. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the level of knowledge and attitudes toward the incidence of dental caries among students of SDN 004 Teratak Buluh, Kampar Regency. This research employed an analytical observational design with a cross-sectional approach involving 55 students selected through stratified random sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and dental examinations using dental caries examination sheets. The results show that 80% of the students experienced dental caries, with the majority having good knowledge (63.6%) and a good attitude (52.7%). Chi-square test analysis indicates a significant relationship between knowledge and attitudes about dental health and the occurrence of dental caries, with a p-value of 0.0011. Although the students' level of knowledge and attitudes was considered good, concrete actions were needed to prevent dental caries. Education and habits in maintaining dental health had to be improved to reduce the prevalence of caries.
