ABSTRACT
Oyster mushroom baglog waste that is not utilized properly will cause problems
such as environmental pollution and can also be a source of pollution for
cultivated oyster mushrooms. Making biobriquettes from mushroom baglog waste
is an alternative for managing oyster mushroom baglog waste. However, the
briquettes produced must also be of good quality, the quality of biobriquettes can
be determined based on SNI 01-6235-2000. Therefore, this study aims to study the
process of making briquettes using mushroom baglog waste, determine the effect
of adding agarwood used in making mushroom baglog waste briquettes on the
characteristics of the briquettes and compare the characteristics of the obtained
mushroom baglog waste briquettes with the briquette quality standards according
to SNI 01-6235-2000. The research method was carried out by crushing the
baglog waste and drying it in a tray for 4 days and sifting it using a 40 mesh sieve
and retaining it in a sieve that was retained at 80 mesh, then cooked until the
mushroom baglog waste became charcoal evenly and mixed with agarwood
powder with variations of 5, 10, and 15 grams and the adhesive used came from
starch that had been cooked, molded and dried at outdoor temperatures for 4
days. Test parameters include calorific value, water content, ash content, volatile
matter and combustion rate. The best results from the overall test were found in
the biobriquette sample with the addition of 15 g of agarwood with a calorific
value of 9,360 cal/g, water content of 5.0%, ash content of 7.8% and volatile
matter of 8.4% with a combustion rate of 0.00543 gr/s. All of these parameters
have met the compost quality standards based on 01-6235-2000. From this study,
it is known that baglog waste has the potential to become briquettes as an
alternative to managing mushroom baglog waste.
