ABSTRACT
This study aims to determine the condition of MSMEs in Sungai
Gelombang tourist attraction, visitor activities and the role of the existence of
Sungai Gelombang tourist attraction in the development of MSMEs in Salo
District, Kampar Regency. The population in this study includes all MSME actors,
visitors, and tourist attraction managers. The sample in this study amounted to 55
MSMEs using total sampling technique, 100 visitors using accidental sampling
technique, and 1 respondent using key informants. While the data collection
techniques used were observation, questionnaires, interviews and documentation.
Data analysis used a quantitative descriptive approach with the method of
calculating the results using the relative frequency formula. The results of this
study indicate that the condition of the development of Sungai Gelombang
MSMEs is classified as a fairly good category, namely 50.39% so that it can
increase sales turnover, number of customers, profits, and additional business
stalls. Visitor activity is classified as a good category at 72.36% because it has
contributed highly to the frequency of visits and increased interest in visiting. The
role of the management of the Sungai Gelombang tourist attraction increases the
income of Sungai Gelombang MSMEs and encourages the development of
MSMEs as a form of illustration of the objectives of managing tourist attractions
by carrying out all existing potentials such as human resources, facilities and
infrastructure, and facilities so as to achieve better
