This research describes termination policy of military cooperation by
Turkey to Israel. This policy was implemented in 2010 when Israel attacked
freedom flotilla mission that bringing humanitarian aid to Gaza Strip. Turkey
claimed that the attack was a violation of humanitarian law and demanded Israel
apologized for the action and agreed the international investigation of the case.
The writer collects data from books, journal, mass media and websites to
analyze Turkeys policy. The theories applied in this research are security from
Barry Buzan, and national interest concept from Donald E. Nuchterlain.
The research shows that Turkey implemented termination policy of
military cooperation to Israel is to minimize or even threat of Israel. Turkey
demanded an apology from Israel and approval of Israel for an international
investigation by an independent team. Turkey has terminated its supply of
weapons from Israel, cancelled military training with Israel, stopped the
intelligence information exchange, and prohibited Israel flight in Turkish
airspace. Turkey used the termination policy because if Turkey keep cooperation
especially military cooperation, Israel will not realize his mistake.
