Studi Respon dua Varietas Jagung Manis pada Berbagai Formula MediaTumbuh Selama dua Periode Tanam
MUHAMMAD SALEH, NIM. 1010246481. A Study on the response of two varieties of sweet corn grown on various media formula for two cropping periods. Under the supervision of Nelvia and Adiwirman.
The present research seeks to find a growing media formula which can yield high growth and production of two varieties of sweet corn for two cropping periods. It applied a split plot design in the form of completely randomized design consisting of main plot treatment, namely two varieties (Super Sweet and Byssi Sweet) and secondary plot treatment, namely six growing media formulas (without growing media formula, compost, husk bio char, sawdust, husk bio char + sawdust bio char and compost + husk bio char + sawdust bio char). The data were analyzed by analysis of variance and then DNMRT at the level of 5%.
The results show that the variety of Byssi Sweet produced higher wet weight of the cornhusked and cornhuskless cobs for 15.96% - 34.24% and 18.35% - 36.83% than variety of Super Sweet. The formula of compost + husk bio char + sawdust bio char can increase the cob length for 32.38%, the cob diameter 16.05%, number of seed row per cob 20.96%, number of seed per row 45.59%, plant height 29.72%, leave width 74.19%, canopy dry weight 40.83, root dry weight 180.95%, and can accelerate flowering time 18.69%. Second cropping period was higher than the first one at wet weight of the cornhusked and cornhuskless cobs for 36.09% - 57.55% and 25.21% - 44.75%, the number of seed row per cob and the number of seed per row 16.65% - 26.56% and 2.36% - 12.06%, the length and diameter of cob for 18.89% - 30.10% and 6.51% - 6.74% and the leaf width for 11.11% - 16.66%.
