Pengaruh Jenis Lapisan Penutup Terhadap Kekuatan Papan Blok (Blockboard)

Different types of cover layer on the blockboard produces different strengths. This study was conducted to determine the power difference. Type of cover that is used in this study is 3 mm plywood, 2.5 mm plywood and plywood layers of mica. The results showed that the water content of the blockboard between 11.71% - 12.15%, while the density between 0.33 to 0.40 gr/cm3. In the direction parallel to the fiber, the blockboard strength with 3mm plywood cover layer is greater 98.04% than 2.5 mm plywood and larger 99.79% than the plywood layers of mica. In the direction perpendicular fiber, the blockboard strength with 3mm plywood cover is 144.69% greater than 2.5 mm plywood and 107.58% higher than the plywood layers of mica. From the research, it appears that the thicker plywood, the greater generated power.
