Implementasi Model Pembelajaran Novick Untuk Meningkatkan Pemahaman Konsep Fisika Siswa Kelas VIII Melalui Materi Cahaya
This research aimed to determine the improve physisc concept understanding of students by applying Novick learning model through light subject. This research was a pre-experimental with one-group-pretest-posttest design. This research subject were 25 students in class VIII MTs Diniyah Puteri Pekanbaru. The instrument used by test of physics concept understanding reasoning multiple choice of 15 questions based on Bloom’s concept understanding indicators, namely translation (translating), interpretation (interpreting), and extrapolation (estimate). Data were analyzed with descriptive analysis techniques on concept understanding of each indicator and normalized gain value to determine improving physics concept understanding of students. The results showed an improve physics concept understanding of students after applying Novick learning model of each indicator, translation in middle category is 0,5, interpretation and extrapolation in lower categories namely 0.25 and 0.14. However, totally improved physics concept understanding of students in middle category with N-gain 0.30. It can be concluded that Novick learning model can improve physics concept understanding through light subject in class VIII MTs Diniyah Puteri Pekanbaru.
