This study aims to improve children's ability to talk using a hand puppet media in children ECD Al-fath Mempura Subdistrict Siak Doctrine year 2015/2016. Storytelling using hand puppets media selected because basically children enjoy listening to stories. Subjects were 15 children 4-5 years old early childhood Al-fath District of Mempura. This research is a classroom action research, the object of research is the ability to speak. Methods of data collection is done through observation. The research instrument used in the form of sheet-shaped observation checklist. Indicators of success in this research is that if at least 80% of children get good grades. The results showed the ability to speak of children increased to an average of 71.33%. The results of the pre-cycle to the second cycle an increase of 94.5%. From these results it can be concluded storytelling using hand puppets media can improve speaking skills of children at 4-5 years of age in ECD Al-Fath Mempura Subdistrict Siak.
