Profil Vertikal Nitrat Di Danau Diatas Kabupaten Solok Provinsi Sumatera Barat
Nitrate is one of water quality parameters that can be used for characterizing the trophic state of a lake. To understand the vertical nitrate concentration in the Diatas Lake, a research has been conducted in February – March 2017. There were three sampling stations namely Station 1 (inlet area), Station 2 (in the middle of the lake), and Station 3 (outlet area). In each station, there were five sampling points, in the surface, 2 Secchi depth, 4 Secchi depth, 6 Secchi depth, and in the bottom. Samplings were conducted 3 times, once/two week. Results shown that the transparency was 3.04–3.24 m, depth was 15.92–34.95 m, temperature was 18.9– 19.6ºC, pH was 6, free carbon dioxide was 6.4–8.1 mg/L. Nitrate concentration at surface: 0.032–0055 mg/L, 2 Secchi depth: 0.048–0.050 mg/L, 4 Secchi depth: 0.045–0.069 mg/L, 6 Secchi depth: 0.044–0.046 mg/L, and in the bottom of lake: 0.043–0.085 mg/L. The concentration of nitrate was vary between depths. Based on nitrate concentration, the Diatas Lake can be categorized as oligotrophic.
