Nilai Ekonomi Objek Ekowisata Mangrove Mengkapan Di Kecamatan Sungai Apit Kabupaten Siak Dengan Pendekatan Biaya Perjalanan (Travel Cost Method)

This research is conducted in Mengkapan Mangrove Ecotourism Object
which is located in Sungai Apit Subdistrict of Siak District. The aim of this
research are to know the economic value of the Mangrove Ecotourism Object and
to examine the effect of travel costs, income, travel time and age to the number of
community visits to the ecotourism object. The population of this research are
7,592 visitors who visited the Mangrove Ecotourism Object in 2015. Accidental
sampling technique is used in this research with people who happened to be met
at the time as respondent. There are 43 respondent used as sample in this
research. Data analysis method in this research is descriptive and quantitative
analysis method. Quantitative analysis is done by using multiple linear regression
based on the questionnaire.
Based on the result of multiple linear regression analysis, the consumer
surplus is Rp.175.303,16 per visit. By using the travel cost approach, the
economic value of Mengkapan Mangrove ecotourism objectis Rp1.330.901.590,7
per year. There are three factors that influence the number of visits in this
research are: travel costs, travel time and age. These three factors have negative
and significant impact on the number of visits to Mengkapan Mangrove
Ecotourism Object while income factor has positive and insignificant effect on
number of visits the ecotourism object. Mengkapan Mangrove Ecotourism Object
have big potential to be developed further, so the need for maintenance and
addition of facilities is compulsory to increase the number of visitors and the
economic valueof Mengkapan Mangrove Ecotourism Object.
