Gambaran Rasionalitas Penggunaan Obat Pada Pasien Common Cold Di Puskesmas P Kota Pekanbaru Periode Januari - Desember 2014
Common cold is an acute respiratory infection which is a self-limiting disease because most of them are caused by rhinovirus. Symptoms are varies widely such as nasal congestion, rhinorrhea or cough. This symptom makes many kinds of symptomatic therapy for patient. This study aims to obtain data which is common drugs for patient with common cold and its rationale usage (the Indication, Patient and Drug Dose). This is a descriptive-retrospective study that obtained from patient’s medical records at health care. There are 912 cases of common cold and only 650 subjects who fulfill include and exclude criteria. This study got female (53,7%) and children age 0-5 years old (36,6%) have more episodes in a year. Common drugs for patient with common cold in this study are antihistamine (73,5%), expectorant (69,4%), vitamine (68%) and analgesic-antipyretic (62,9%). More than half of the subject alredy given an appropiate indication and dosage therapy, in other hand, almost all subjects has been give an appropiate therapy based on patient. This study concluded that female and children age 0-5 years old have more common cold epidsodes with antihistamine as the most often given drugs. Rational prescription in P Community Health Care for common cold has been appropiate based on assessment of criteria for patient safety and most of all already fulfill appropiate therapeutic indication and drug dosage.
