Identifikasi Bakteri Penghasil Extended Spectrum Beta Lactamase (ESBL) Pada Urin Pasien Dengan Kateter Urindi Rsud Petala Bumi Pekanbaru
Bacteriuria is a condition where bacteria is present in the urine. The significant discovery of bacteriuria (>105) colony forming units (CFU) isthe risk for the incidence of urinary tract infections. Irrational use of antibiotic to treat bacteriuria as the risk factor of urinary tract infection will lead to antibiotic resistance. One ofresistance which is resulted by Gram negative bacteria is by producing ESBL. This study aimed to determine ESBL-producing Gram negative bacilli bacteria and its antibiotic resistance in patients with bacteriuria in relation to the use of urine catheters at Petala Bumi General Hospital Riau Province. This was descriptive and prospective study. This study found Gram negative bacilli bacteria are 5 samples (55.55%) of Escherichia coli, 2 samples (22.22%) of Acinetobacter sp, and 1 sample of Klebsiella sp andPseudomonas sp each (11.11%). Based screening test, this study found 2 samples (40%) of Escherichia coli, and 1 sample of Klebsiella sp, Acinetobacter sp and Pseudomonas sp each (20%) that possibility of producing ESBL. It was not found ESBL-producing Gram negative bacilli bacteria based confirmatory test.
