Learning activities take place in TK ABA Lalang Kecamatan Sungai
Apit Kabupaten Siak. The talking ability of children 5-6 years old in TK ABA looks still
low. Some children are still difficult to communicate well, it is identified among others:
they can not retell what they have heard, expressing their desires, their fellings, and
their opinions with simple sentences, and they lack of ability to speak. This study aims
to find out how much improvement the ability to talking in children after the application
of storytelling method. The research method used is classroom action research (PTK)
which is carried out in 2 cycle, each cycle consists of 4 stage: planning,
implementation, observation, and reflection. Each cycle is held 3 times meeting. The
subjects in this study were 12 children consisting of 5 girls and 7 boys. Based on the
results of the study the increase from pre cycle to cycle I of 33%, the increase from
cycle I to cycle II of 49%, and the increase from pre cycle to cycle II of 98%. Thus it can
be conclude that the the ability to talking in children 5-6 years old in ABA Lalang can
be improved through the story telling method.
