Efektivitas Perjanjian Bilateral Amerikaserikat Dan Kolombia Mengenai Pemberantasan Peredaran Narkotika Ilegal Di Amerika Serikat (2003-2008)
This study aims to explain the effectiveness of a United States and Colombia Bilateral Treaty on the Eradication of Illegal Narcotics in the United States (2003-2008). Colombia was chosen as a partner in Narcotics Eradication because Colombia is the largest drug exporter to the United States of which 90% Cocaine and 40% of Heroin smuggled to the United States are from Colombia. The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on Bilateral Cooperation was undertaken by the two countries in April 2003 covering the provision of Transportation, Training, Incognito, Intelligence and Joint Operations (Joint Operations) assistance.
This research data is obtained from Books, Journals, Articles, Official Documents, and websites that support the hypothesis. The author uses the Neorealism Approach from Kenneth Waltz, and the Level of Nation-State Analysis. Concepts used by Transnational Organized Crime (TOC), Human Security, Bilateral Agreement.
The results of this study indicate that the Agreement between the United States and Colombia on Narcotics and Psychotropic Eradication in the Sea Line has had a very positive impact on the prevention of narcotics problems in the United States, with the high rate of interception by the two countries' co-operation has resulted in many confiscations, contribute to a decline in the level of Narcotics Use in the US.
