Hubungan Antara Profil Lipid Dengan Fungsi Kognitif Pada Pasien Lanjut Usia Di Poliklinik Saraf Rsud Arifin Achmad Provinsi Riau
Elderly is someone who reaches the age over 60 years which is a life process. In elderly people the cognitive function often decrease, where one of the cause is the alteration of lipid profile. The purpose of this research is to know the the relationship between lipid profiles and cognitive functions of elderly patients in neurology polyclinic of Arifin Achmad Regional General Hospital of Riau Province. The research design used is descriptive analytic that used secondary data from elderly patient’s medical records and anamnesis using a Moca-Ina questionnaire. The results in this study came from 71 subjects that have met the inclusion criteria. The data obtained based on gender was women (62%). Most of patients were 60-74 years old (88,7%) and most of them have middle level of education (73,2%). Most lipid profiles of elderly patients were high total cholesterol (64.8%), normal LDL (69%), normal HDL (56.3%) and normal triglyceride (66.2%). The most profile of cognitive function of elderly patients was disturbed (95.8%). There is a relationship between total cholesterol and cognitive function. The conclusion of this study is there is a relationship between the lipid profile that is total cholesterol with cognitive function of elderly patients in neurology polyclinic of Arifin Achmad Regional General Hospital of Riau Province.
