An Acute Exacerbation of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (AECOPD) is a condition when patient with COPD experiences a sustained increase in cough, sputum production and dyspnea. Patient with AECOPD requires hospitalization which duration can be influenced by various factors. This study aimed to determine the relationship between the COPD severity level, comorbidity, stagnancy and methods of payment with the length of stay (LOS) of AECOPD patients in Arifin Achmad Hospital of Riau Province year 2016. This was an analytical cross sectional study. Samples were determined by purposive sampling technique. Data were obtained by observing 45 patient medical records and were analyzed using Kolmogorov-Smirnov test. The result showed there was a significant relationship between the COPD severity level (p=0,000), comorbidity (p=0,009) and waiting duration (p=0,019) with the LOS of AECOPD patients. However, there was no significant relationship between methods of payment (p=0,997) with the LOS of AECOPD patients.
