Gambaran Farmakoterapi Pada Pasien Sepsis Di Intensive Care Unit RSUD Arifin Achmad Provinsi Riau Tahun 2017
Sepsis is a life-threatening condition as the body's response to the infection process which can cause failure of the function of tissues and organs. Damage more than one organ experienced by sepsis patients causes patients to be administered with several drugs that may lead to polypharmacy. Polypharmacy is the simultaneous use of five or more drugs in the same patient. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of drug use in septic patients in the ICU Arifin Achmad Hospital in Riau Province in 2017. The type of this research was retrospective descriptive using secondary data in the form of medical records. The sample used was 44 samples that were in accordance with the inclusion criteria. The three most widely used classes of drugs were based on indications and mechanism of action of the drug in sepsis patients respectively, 97.72% anti-infective drugs (68.18% beta lactams), 97.72% gastrointestinal drugs and hepatobiliary drugs (86.36% PPI) ), and cardiovascular drugs 95.45% (vasoactive and inotropic 86.36%). The highest average number of drugs / day given was 6-10 drugs (79.54%), while the number of sepsis patients who received polypharmacy treatment in the ICU were 42 people (95.45%), and the highest number of types of drugs given was 10 types of drugs (19.04%). The drugs used are in accordance with the patient's clinical condition.
