Evaluasi Penggunaan Antibiotik Empirik Pada Pasien Sepsis Di Intensive Care Unit (Icu) Rsud Arifin Achmad Provinsi Riau Periode Januari- Desember 2017
Sepsis is a serious world health problem which is reported that the incident number increases every year. Sepsis is also one of the causes that patients are hospitalized in ICU and is the highest cause of death in ICU ward. One of the therapies that support the success of sepsis medication is using antibiotics. This study aims to evaluate the appropriates use of empirical antibiotic regarding to medicine, dosage, and duration at ICU ward of Arifin Achmad general hospital in Riau Province period January-December 2017. The type of this study is retrospective descriptive research with total sampling method. The data in this study was gained from the medical record in Medical Record Installation of RSUD Arifin Achmand Riau Province and was analyzed descriptively based on the guideline of Bacterial Resistance Pattern in RSUD Arifin Achmad year 2016, Surviving Sepsis Campaign 2016, Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) and the American Thoracic Society (ATS) were used as the guidelines to choose the type of antibiotics and assess appropriate dosage and duration antibiotics administered. Based on the research, 19 patients were obtained who used empirical antibiotics 23 times. The result of this study shows that regarding to the appropriateness of antibiotics administered, there are 21 antibiotics (91%) of appropriate drugs, 17 antibiotics (74%) of appropriate doses and 21 antibiotics (91%) of appropriate duration.
