Hubungan Gejala Depresi Dengan Tekanan Darah Pada Pasien Hipertensi Di Rsud Arifin Achmad Provinsi Riau
Hypertension is a non-communicable disease that is a problem in the health sector. Depression is one of the factors that affect blood pressure and causes hypertension to be uncontrolled. Hypertension can damage organs such as the heart, brain and kidneys. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between depression symptom and blood pressure in hypertensive patients in Arifin Achmad Hospital, Riau Province. This research is analytical research with cross sectional method. Sampling using consecutive sampling technique with a total sample of 70 respondents. Measurement of depression symptom used the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale 42 (DASS 42) questionnaire, while blood pressure data was taken by measuring the patient's blood pressure using a sphygmomanometer. The results showed that the characteristics of most hypertensive patients were over 60 years old, amounting to 49 people (70.0%), 40 women (57.1%), high school education levels totaling 27 people (38.6%), working as 25 housewives (35.7%). Most hypertensive patients have controlled blood pressure, amounting to 42 people (60.0%). The highest do not have depression symptom (60.7%). Data were analyzed using spearman correlation test. Test of spearman correlation shows the results of p = 0.037. It can be concluded that there is a correlation between depression symptom and blood pressure in hypertensive patients at Arifin Achmad Hospital Riau Province.
