Faktor Ibu Dan Faktor Anak Yang Berhubungan Dengan Usia Menarche Pada Anak Sekolah Dasar

Menarche is the first menstruation that occurs in puberty phase on girls. Many factors influence the age of the menarche include maternal factors and child factors. The purpose of this study was to determine maternal factors and child factors associated with age of menarche in elementary school at Sail District of Pekanbaru with descriptive correlation design and cross sectional approach. The research sample consisted of 261 respondents taken based on inclusion and exclusion criteria using the proportionate random sampling technique. The measuring instrument used was a questionnaire and that measure age at menarche mother and respondents, ethnic and age of mother give birth, and frequency of consuming junk food, physical activity and sleep duration. From all respondents, 38,7% students had experienced menarche. The results of statistical tests obtained p value of maternal menarche status (0,000), nutritional status (BMI) (0,028) and frequency of consuming junk food (0,011) 0,05 which showed no relationship with the age of menarche. The results of this study recommend that parents and health workers to pay more attention and improve the health status of children, especially at the age of menarche children and the factors that influence it.
