Identifikasi Komponen Fitokimia Dan Aktivitas Antioksidan Ekstrak Rumput Laut Coklat (Sargassum Plagyophyllum)
Brown seaweed has the potential as a natural antioxidant, one of the types of brown seaweed is Sargassum plagyophyllum. This study was aimed to determine the proximate composition, identification of phytochemical components, and antioxidant activity of S. plagyophyllum extract. S. plagyophyllum was extracted by multilevel maceration method using organic solvents based on its polarity consists of hexane (non polar), ethyl acetate (semi polar), and methanol (polar) solvents. Parameter analysis consisted of yield, phytochemical test, and antioxidant activity using DPPH method. The yield of S. plagyophyllum extract with hexane, ethyl acetate, and methanol solvents was 0.6%, 0.28% and 0.31%. The results of phytochemical analysis of S. plagyophyllum on hexane solvent extracts were contained steroids / triterpenoids compounds, ethyl acetate solvents namely alkaloids, flavonoids, steroids / triterpenoids, saponins, and phenolics, while there were no flavonoids in methanol. The IC50 value of hexane, ethyl acetate, and methanol extract was 1105.58, 532.42, and 777.79 ppm.
