Pembuatan Kertas Dari Ampas Tebu Dengan Proses Soda Semi Mekanis
Bagasse contains 43% cellulose, 23% hemicellulose and 22% lignin which can be used as raw material to make the paper . The focus of this study was to determine the best conditions for making paper by utilizing bagasse waste using a semi-mechanical soda process. The fixed variable of this study is the concentration of 5% NaOH, and is carried out at the boiling temperature. Changing variables of this study are boiling time about 60, 90 and 120 minutes, comparison of raw materials with cooking solution is (1:10), (1:12), (1:14). The best results in this study were 7.809% of moisture content, 118.429 gr/m2 of grammage, 3.191 kPam2/gr of bursting strength, 0.200 mm of thickness, 9.065 kN of tensile strength and 1743.4 mN of tear strength that obtained at 60 minutes boiling time with material comparison about 1:10 cooking solution, then the results obtained compared with SNI 6519-2016. Based on the parameters that have been tested, paper from bagasse can be used as base paper for plastic laminated paper.
