Analisis Pendapatan Rumah Tangga Petani Karet Di Desa Pulau Sarak Kecamatan Kampar Kabupaten Kampar
Fluctuations in rubber prices have caused rubber farmers in Pulau Sarak
Village to be in a dilemmatic condition to meet the needs of their families. With
declining income how can they be able to compensate for the high economic and
social needs of the family that must be met. This study aims to find out and
describe various forms of efforts made by rubber farmers in Pulau Sarak Village,
Kampar District, Kampar Regency in overcoming low levels of income due to
falling rubber price fluctuations.
This type of research is a descriptive field research which is described by
observing and exploring data that occurs on the field regarding the efforts of
rubber plantation farmers to deal with rubber price fluctuations in the village of
Pulau Sarak, Kampar District, Kampar Regency. The study was conducted in
March-June 2019, with the number of samples as respondents to be taken based
on the Slovin formula, namely as many as 60 respondents, namely the head of
household rubber farmers as rubber plantation owners in Sarak Island Village,
Kampar District. Primary data collection is done by interview. Data obtained
from observations and interviews are processed systematically and analyzed in
each data collected. Then describe the parts of the problem by making subheadings
in the chapters in research writing. Setting such data is called the
classification method.
The results showed that the strategy carried out by rubber farmers in
Pulau Sarak Village to survive as a result of the fluctuations in rubber prices
which had decreased was by doing the first was an active strategy, namely a
strategy that optimizes all potential and involves the family to do their own
activities looking for side jobs, among others by: collecting used goods, collecting
loose palm oil seeds, catching fish and looking for firewood. Second, do passive
strategies or emphasis / optimization of expenditure, namely reducing family
expenses such as expenses for clothing, food, social costs, health, education, and
other daily needs, by utilizing home yards to grow vegetable crops and utilization
of home yards to raising poultry. Third is network strategy, namely the network in
question is social relations, both informally and formally with their social
environment and institutional environment, namely by borrowing money from
relatives or neighbors, borrowing money from the treasurer and borrowing
money from cooperatives. These three strategies can make them survive and solve
their economic problems.
