Hubungan Indeks Antropometri Dengan Kejadian Hipertensi Pada Pasien Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2 Di Puskesmas Rawat Inap Sidomulyo Dan Puskesmas Rawat Inap Simpang Tiga Pekanbaru
Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a metabolic disease characterized by elevated blood sugar levels caused by insulin deficiency or insulin resistance. Cardiovascular disorders associated with DM are very serious problem if not treated properly, which increases the mortality rate of patients with DM. Hypertension is common among diabetic patients which can increase the risk factor developing cardiovaskular complication. Obesity is a major risk factor for DM. This study was aimed to study the association between anthropometric indexes and hipertension among diabetic patients in 2 public health centers in Pekanbaru. This study was analytical observational study with cross sectional approach. The study samples included 106 of type 2 DM patients visiting Sidomulyo and Simpang Tiga Public Health Center in Pekanbaru from May-June 2018. Result showed that hypertension was found in 62,3% of DM patients, they were mostly women (62,3%), aged >45 years old (96,2%), had high school education (44,3%), unemployed (50,0%), and had no smoking history (85,8%). This study showed that obesity based on Body Mass Index (BMI), Waist Circumference (WC), Waist to Hip Ratio (WHR), Waist to Height Ratio (WHtR) was not significantly associated with hypertension occurrence in DM patients (p>0,05).
