Hubungan Keparahan Akne Vulgaris Dengan Kualitas Hidup Pada Mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Riau
Acne vulgaris is a chronic inflammatory disease of the pilosebaceous follicle with clinical manifestations are open and closed comedones, papules, pustules, nodes and cysts. Acne vulgaris lesions can cause disruption to the quality of life of a person who experienced because it affects the appearance, confidence and emotional stress. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation of the acne vulgaris severity with the quality of life of Medical Students at Faculty of Medicine of Riau University. The assessment of acne vulgaris severity using criteria by Lehmann et al. and the assessment of quality of life using the Cardiff Acne Disability Index (CADI). The basic design of this study is analytic observational research with the type of research is cross sectional study. The population of this research is Medical Students of Riau University with the subjects studied are 147 students who come from 4 active batches in period 2017/2018. The data obtained were analyzed statistically using Spearman correlation test. The results of statistical test of acne vulgaris severity with quality of life showed a very weak correlation (r = 0,033) and insignificant (p = 0,69) between acne vulgaris severity with quality of life of Medical Students at Faculty of Medicine, Riau University.
