ABSTRACT
Total power of the lamp used in operation bagan fishing gear take effect on the fish catches. This study aims to explain the impact of lamp power in catch fish of bagan fishing gear, find out the best season catching frigate tuna in the western part sea of Sumatera. Data of fish catches use by logbook bagan fishing boat in Bungus Oceanic Fishing Port (OFP), in December 2016–November 2017. Correlation and regression analysis used to look at the connection between the total power of lamp to fish catches. Total power of the lamp used in operation bagan fishing gear take effect on fish catches, with the value of correlation 0,5225. The west season is the time with the highest amount of bagan fish catches in the western part sea of Sumatra that is 186,101 kg. while at the east season is the time with the lowest amount of bagan fish catches in the western part sea of Sumatra that is 1.530 kg. While at the transitional season II is the time with the highest amount of correlation between lamp power and fish catches that is 0,7042.
