Penerapan Metode Pembelajaran PQ4R Untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Membaca Pemahaman Siswa Kelas IV SD Muhammadiyah 6 Pekanbaru
This research is motivated by the low ability of students in reading comprehension. The purpose of this research is to improve reading comprehension ability of students of the fourth grade at SD Muhammadiyah 6 Pekanbaru. The type of this research is classroom action research, which is in two cycle. The research instrumen used are observation sheet, reading comprehension ability test and documentation. The result showed that there was an increasing students reading comprehension ability in each cycle. The average score classical of reading comprehension students before action was 68. After the application of PQ4R method at cycle I, the average score classical increased to 76 with a large increased 12%. In the second cycle, the score increased to 84 with a large increased 23%. In the cycle I, activities teacher in the first meeting were with persentage of 62,5% in enough categories. Then, in the second meeting, the persentage increased to 70,8% in enough categories. Then in the cycle II, activities teacher in the first meeting the persentage became 83,3% in good categories and in second meeting increased to 87,5% in very good categories. In the cycle I students activites in the first meeting, the persentage was 58,3% in less categories. For the second meeting increases to 66,7% in enough categories. In the cycle II, students activities in the first meeting the persentage became 79,2% in good categories and then increased to 83,3% in good categories on the second categories. Result of the research in fourth grade at SD Muhammadiyah 6 Pekanbaru prove that the application of method PQ4R can be improve students reading comprehension ability.
