Evaluasi Genotipe Tanaman Kacang Hijau (Vigna Radiata L.) Generasi M4 Hasil Radiasi Sinar Gamma
Mungbean (Vigna radiata L.) production in Riau has been decreased every year, this causes low productivity of mungbean. Efforts are being made to improve the productivity of mungbean by finding superior varieties through induction mutation with gamma ray radiation. The use of gamma-ray radiation is expected to improve and increase the yield of mung bean production. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the diversity of green bean plants resulting from gamma ray mutations in the M4 generation. This research was conducted at Biology garden Faculty of Mathematics and Natural, Science University of Riau from August until November 2019. Planting is done by making a plot of ten plots, namely one plot planted with M0 strain of Kampar mungbean and nine plots planted with M4 mungbean seeds. Each plot was planted by 40 mungbean seeds with 25 cm x 25 cm space between plants. Data analyzed with Independent-Samples t Test using SPSS 17.00 program. The result showed that gamma-ray radiation had a significant effect on plant height, shape of branching, shape of leaf, color of leaf, flower bud color, shape of pod, position of pod, color of pod and shape of seeds, but does not significant affect the parameters number of branchs, flowering age, number of pods, age ripe pods, length of pod, number of seeds per pod, weight of 100 seeds, seed weight per plant, color of flower, shape of flower, shape of seed, seed size and sparkle of seeds.
