Abstract: This study aims to determine the independence of children aged 5-6 years in PAUD Bintang Cendekia Pekanbaru City. The type of research used descriptive research method. The population in this study are children aged 5-6 years in PAUD Bintang Cendekia Pekanbaru City as many as 66 people. The sample of the research is all children aged 5-6 years in PAUD Bintang Cendekia Kota Pekanbaru consisting of 66 children. Based on the results of the study note that the independence of children aged 5-6 years in early childhood Star Cendekia Pekanbaru get percentage of 76, 81% are on the criteria of "good" As for the assessment based on indicators of independence of children then obtained the following results: a) The physical ability to obtain a percentage of 71.50% is in the '' enough '' category. This means that in the physical ability of children still need habituation in training independence in order to better, b) The second indicator that is confident to get a percentage of 79.83% is in the category of '' good ''. Artinaya where in self confident indicator of children have independent, c) The third indicator that is responsible to get percentage equal to 79,17% is in category '' good ''. Artinaya where in responsible children are independent, d) The fourth indicator is the discipline to get a percentage of 75.25% is in the category '' enough ''. Artinaya where in the child discipline indicator is quite independent but must be improved so that children really independent, e) The fifth indicator that is good at getting percentage of 76.03% is in the '' good '' category. This means that in a clever middling children are independent, f) The sixth indicator is a share of percentage of 79.29% is in the category of '' good ''. Artinaya where in the sharing of children are independent and g) The seventh indicator that is controlling the emotions get a percentage of 75.13% is in the '' enough '' category. Artinaya where in controlling the emotions of children is quite independent.
