Based on field observations on the ability to recognize the geometrical shapes of students has not developed optimally. So it needs to be done the application of glowing city media. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of the application of glowing city media on the ability to recognize geometric shapes in children aged 4-5 years. This research was conducted at TK Negeri Pembina 2 Pekanbaru from August 2019 to February 2020 for observation and research. This study used an experimental method with one group pretest posttest design with a sample of 15 children. Data collection techniques used in this study were to use observation sheets to recognize geometry shapes. Data analysis technique used t-test using SPSS version 22. From the results of data analysis, the tcount was -33.068, greater than ttable = 1.76131 with sig 0.000
