Meningkatkan Kemampuan Mengenal Huruf Melalui Pohon Huruf Pada Anak Usia 5-6 Tahun Di Paud Insan Rokan Cemerlang Banjar Xii Kecamatan Tanah Putih Kabupaten Rokan Hilir
Abstract :The background of this study is that most (1) children can not
mention known letter symbols, for example the letter "b" but the child mentions
with the letter "d". (2) The child has not been able to recognize the initial furuf of
the objects around him like a pencil. (3) there are still many who can not
categorize images that have the same initial letters, such as grapefruit images
with apples, guava and oranges, but there are still children who mix the pictures
of grapes in the guava group. (4) the child does not understand the relationship
between the earth and the shape of the letter, for example the child has not been
able to distinguish consonants with vowels, such as "ma" in the word "mango".
Based on the background, the researcher did the improvement and
optimize the ability to recognize the letters in the child according to the level of
development of his age. The purpose of this research is to know by using letter
tree can improve the ability to recognize letters in children aged 5-6 years, to
determine the application of letter tree to improve the ability to recognize the
letters in children Age 5-6 years and to know the great increase in the ability to
recognize the letters of children through the letter tree in PAUD Insan Rokan
Cemerlang Banjar XII District Tanah Putih Rokan Hilir District.
Observation activities of each cycle can be aligned with data collection
activities in formal research. In this activity the researcher observes and records
the outcomes or impacts of the actions performed on the teacher and the children
by using the prepared observation sheet of teacher and child activities.
Based on the recapitulation of the ability to recognize letters through letter
tree of children aged 5-6 years on, cycle I and cycle II, obtained the average value
that is before the action or before the cycle obtained an average value of 40.83%
with sufficient criteria. After implemented cycle I, the average value obtained in
the first cycle of 58.34% with good enough criteria. Because the average value in
cycle I is still low and sufficiently categorized, then the researchers continue the
second cycle. In cycle II the average value obtained is 83.61% with very good
criteria. So the increase from before the implementation of action to cycle I of
24.1% and cycle I to cycle II that is equal to 43.3% and increase from before the
cycle to cycle II II of 99.8%. Means with letter tree can improve the ability to
recognize letters in children aged 5-6 years in PAUD Insan Rokan Cemerlang
Banjar XII District Tanah Putih Rokan Hilir district, in accordance with
expectations made in this study. This increase occurs because each stage of the
implementation of the cycle held improvements in carrying out learning activities.
