This study aimed to determine the effect of playing cards pictured letters to the ability to know the letters in children aged 4-5 years in early childhood PAUD Kasih Ibu Pasir Emas Sub District Singingi District Kuantan Singingi Regency. The population in this study were young children aged 4-5 years in early childhood PAUD Kasih Ibu Pasir Emas Sub District Singingi District Kuantan Singingi Regency totaling 23 people, all of the sample in this study. The data collection technique used is observation. To analyze the data in this study, researchers used statistical analysis in the form of t-test analysis using SPSS for Windows Release 17.0, to see the effect of the application of the card game pictured letters to recognize letters ability of children aged 4-5 years. Then to determine how much influence the implementation of the card game pictured letters to recognize letters ability of children aged 4-5 years, it is used the formula N-Gain. Based on the results of hypothesis testing, there is a very significant influence through the implementation of card game illustration of the ability to recognize the letters of children aged 4-5 years, which can be known the difference in the form of an increase in the ability to recognize letters of students before and after the implementation of experiments by applying the game cards illustrated letter . Based on the results of Wilcoxon's different test results, out of 23 overall samples have increased literacy capabilities. The magnitude of the effect of the game card game implementation on the ability to recognize the letters of children aged 4-5 years can be seen through the acquisition of N-Gain score of 0.77 which is in the High category. This means that there is a high increase in the ability to recognize the letters of children after the application of card game with the percentage of 77%..
