Regenerasi Vegetasi Seedling Hutan Mangrove Di Desa Bukit Batu Kabupaten Bengkalis Provinsi Riau

Bukit Batu Village is a village that has the largest mangrove forest in Bengkalis, Riau
Province. Unfortunatelly, most of mangrove ecosystems in the region are treathened,
especially along the coastline. The purpose of this study were to determine the regeneration
of mangrove seedling naturally after the deforestation and to determine the characteristics of
regeneration in Bukit Batu Village, Bengkalis. A total of 3 zones were used in this study,
with a transect in each zone. The plots were placed using purposive sampling method. We
identified seedling from 3 mangrove species, i.e.Rhizophora mucronata, Rhizophora
apiculata and Avicennia alba. These three species showed high survival rate (100%) in zone
1, while in Zone 2 only two species (Rhizophora mucronata and Rhizophora apiculata)
showed 100% survival rate. The highest density (170 ind / ha) in each zone belong to
Rhizophora apiculata. This species is a dominan species in each zone.
