Uji Aktivitas Antibakteri Ekstrak Rebusan Ramuan Obat Pahit Warisan Budaya Melayu Lingga Kepulauan Riau Terhadap Bakteri Penyebab Penyakit Kulit
Disease on human skin is the most common infectious disease that occurs in
people of all ages which can be caused by infection of Staphylococcus aureus,
Staphylococcus epidermidis and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Malay Lingga
community use obat pahit potion made in Traditional Medicine Practioner (TMP)
as an alternative in medicinal treatment of various diseases on human. The
purpose of this research was to determine antibacterial activity on extract of obat
pahit potion against bacteria that cause skin disease. Antibacterial activity was
determined by measuring the inhibitory zone with disc diffusion method. Based
on the results of the antibacterial activity test it, showed that the largest inhibitory
zone of S. aureus ATCC 12600 was shown from obat pahit potion of TMP 1 from
village Kalan at 100% concentration with a value of 7.45 mm; and the smallest
inhibitory zone was shown from the extract of Bauhinia semibifida at 50%
concentration with a value of 5.80 mm. Besides, the largest inhibitory zone of S.
epidermidis ATCC 12228 was shown from TMP 1 from village Kalan at 75%
concentration with a value of 7.24 mm; and the smallest inhibitory zone was
shown from TMP 3 from village Linau at 50% concentration with a value of 5.66
mm. On the other hand, the largest inhibitory zone of P. aeruginosa ATCC
10145 was shown from the extract of B. semibifida at 100% concentration with a
value of 8.23 mm; and the smallest inhibitory zone was shown from TMP 2 from
village SP4 at 75% concentration with a value of 5.62 mm.
