Kontribusi Usaha Tani Kakao Terhadap Pendapatan Petani Kelapa Sawit Di Desa Pelambaian Kecamatan Tapung Kabupaten Kampar
This study aims to determine the contribution of cocoa farming to the total
income of oil palm farmers, the comparison of the contribution of cocoa farming with
non-cocoa farming on the income of oil palm farmers in Pelambaian Village, Tapung
District, Kampar Regency. This research uses primary data and secondary data. The
sample categories of oil palm farmers who have cocoa in this study amounted to 30
people and the sample category of oil palm farmers who have non-cocoa farming
businesses amounted to 22 people. The method used in this research is quantitative
descriptive method using descriptive percentage analysis techniques and using
significance tests to test hypotheses. Data collection techniques through questionnaire
methods, documentation and field observation methods.
The results of this study indicate that cocoa farming has not contributed
significantly to the income of respondent farmers in Pelambaian Village, Tapung
District, Kampar Regency. Only 17.07% of the total income of farmers is contributed
from the cocoa farming category, while 76.18% is still sourced from oil palm farming
which is the main source of income for farmers and 6.75% comes from other businesses
run by farming families like opening a food stall, selling pulses, selling retail oil and
others. The category of non-cocoa farming also has not contributed significantly to the
income of oil palm farmers with only 15.62% of the total income of farmers, while
74.61% comes from oil palm farming which is the main income and 9.77% of
businesses another is run by a respondent farm family. Compared to non-cocoa farming
businesses run by oil palm farmers such as coconut, areca nut, mango and guava,
cocoa farming provides a greater contribution. Because cocoa is considered to provide
higher income compared to non-cocoa farming business which is also run by oil palm
farmers in Pelambaian Village, Tapung District, Kampar Regency. Comparison of
cocoa farming with non cocoa can be known through the amount of income, which is
where cocoa farming provides income of IDR 35,410,000 and non-cocoa farming
provides income of IDR 23,025,000 so that the difference between the two cocoa and
non cocoa farming is IDR 12,385,000.
