Strategi Pengembangan Industri Tempe Kedelai Di Kota Pekanbaru
This study aims to determine the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats
for the soybean tempe industry in Pekanbaru City and to find out what is the right
strategy to develop the soybean tempe industry in Pekanbaru City. The study uses
secondary data and primary data obtained directly from respondents in the soybean
tempe industry in the city of Pekanbaru totaling 12 business units. The analytical method
used in this study is the SWOT Analysis.
Based on the SWOT matrix which is the strength of the soybean tempe industry is
the price of cheap relational products, strategic business locations, good and maintained
product quality and ease of obtaining employment. The weaknesses of the soybean tempe
industry are limited capital, poor accounting, lack of promotional activities and simple
equipment. Soybean tempe industry opportunities are a developing economic condition,
government support for the tempe industry, increased public consumption of ready-made
food and increased selling prices of products to consumers. The threat of soybean tempe
industry is the increase in fuel prices, difficulty in obtaining raw materials, more and
more competitors and production decreases when the season changes. From the results
of the SWOT analysis, it shows that soybean tempeh industry in Pekanbaru has a strategy
in dealing with internal and external factors. Where this strategy is located in kaudran I.
The strategy that must be established in this condition is to support an aggressive growth
policy. This aggressive strategy is more focused on the SO (strength-opportunity)
strategy, namely by using the power to take advantage of existing opportunities. The
development strategy undertaken is that the price of a product that is easily accessible to
consumers will accelerate the marketing process because it is supported by the economic
development of the community so that it can increase profits, improve product quality by
utilizing the skills possessed by the workforce so that people's consumption of tempe is
always increasing.
