Potensi Ekstrak Sembung Rambat (Mikania Micrantha Kunth.) Dan Ketapang (Terminalia Catappa L.) Terhadap Perkecambahan Dan Pertumbuhan Gulma Asystasia Gangetica (L.) T. Anderson
Sembung rambat (Mikania micrantha Kunth.) and ketapang (Terminalia catappa L.) are the plants that contain allelochemicals which have potential to be developed as pre-emergence and post-emergence bioherbicides. The aim of this study was to determine the effect and the best concentration of sembung rambat, ketapang extract and their binary mixture on seed germination and seedling growth of weed, Asystasia gangetica. This study used a Randomized Block Design with ten treatments i.e. control, 20%, 40%, 60% sembung rambat extract, 20%, 40%, 60% ketapang extract and 20%, 40%, 60% their binary mixture. The observed data were analized using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and followed by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at 5% level of significance. The results showed that all treatments inhibit the germination and growth of A. gangetica. The inhibitory effect on germination was showed by 40% of ketapang extract which is the low percentage of germination (23,33%), the highest mean germination time (7,62 days) and the high percentage of germination inhibitory (69,57%). The inhibitory effect of growth was showed by 60% of ketapang extract which is the lowest fresh weight (0,71 g), the small roots (11,98 cm) and the high percentage of growth inhibitory (62,83%).
