Analisis Kausalitas Zakat Dan Kemiskinan Di Kota Pekanbaru Periode 2011 (Q1) – 2019 (Q4)

The purpose of this research is to find out any causality relationship between
zakat and poverty in Pekanbaru City Period 2011 (Q1) - 2019 (Q4). The data used in this
research are secondary time series in the form of financial reports from Pekanbaru City
National Amil Zakat Agency and publications from The Riau Province Central Statistics
Agency in period 2011 - 2019 (in quarterly).
Analysis method used is Vector Autoregression (VAR) and Granger Causality
Test to see any causality relationship or reciprocal from both variable that researched
and measured by application software E-views 10.
The result show that zakat and poverty does not have long term relationship. In
Granger Causality Test, zakat does not affect poverty and poverty does not affect zakat in
other words,there are no causality relationship between zakat and poverty in Pekanbaru
City on Period 2011 (Q1) - 2019 (Q4). The potential for zakat funds has not been
managed and utilized optimally in The Pekanbaru City environment. The goal of efficient,
effective and benefit based zakat funding in The City of Pekanbaru has not been optimally
achieved.
