Under the guidance of Rita Yani Iyan and Yusni Maulida)
This research aims to find out how the population influences the population, wage
levels and education levels on labor offerings. Data used is time series data during
the period 2005 to 2019. The study used quantitative descriptive analysis with
multiple linear regressions using the SPSS 24.0 computer statistics program. The
results of this study obtained are the number of residents , education level and
wage level together affect the labor supply in Riau Province with a significant
value of 0.000 and t-count value (15,647) greater than f-table (6.65). Partially
variable population growth has no effect on labor supply in Riau Province with a
regression coefficient of 0.126 and the value of t-count population growth of 1,645
is smaller than t-table (2.17), wage rate affects labor supply with regression
coefficient of 0.016 and t value -calculate that (2,383) is greater than the t-table
(2.17) , and the level of education affects the labor supply with its regression
coefficient of 0.002 and the t-calculate value of the education level/X3 (4,120)
greater than the t-table (2.17). In the determination test (R2) it was obtained 0.758
which means that the independent variables (population growth / X1, wage level /
X2, and education level / X3) can explain that independent variables can affect the
dependent variable, namely the labor supply in Riau Province of 75, 80% while the
remaining 24.20% is influenced by other factors of labor supply in Riau Province
which were not examined in this study.
