This study aims to determine the business feasibility of the charcoal
industry in the Rangsang Pesisir District, Meranti Islands Regency. The
population in this study is the charcoal industry in the Rangsang Pesisir District,
Kepulauan Meranti Regency, which consists of 7 businesses. The data used in this
study are primary and secondary data. The technique of collecting data through
observation and also quizinoer. The quantitative analysis aims to determine
financial aspects such as Net Present Value (NPV), Benefit Cost Ratio (B / C
Ratio), Internal Rate of Return (IRR) and also Payback Period (PP). Meanwhile,
qualitative analysis aims to analyze non-financial aspects such as market aspects,
technical aspects, socio-economic aspects, environmental aspects and also legal
aspects. The results of this study indicate that the charcoal industry in Rangsang
Pesisir District, Kepulauan Meranti Regency is feasible to run. This can be seen
from the results of the calculation of the financial feasibility analysis which shows
the NPV value of 24,604,026> 0, B / C Ratio 1.14> 1, IRR 17.13%> 12% and
also the payback period (PP) 2 years 4 months 2 days. Therefore, it can be
concluded that the charcoal industry in the Rangsang Pesisir District, Kepulauan
Meranti Regency, is feasible to develop financially in the research area. Nonfinancial
feasibility analysis such as market aspects, technical aspects, social
aspects and also legal aspects show that the charcoal industry is feasible to
develop.
